From Paris with Love: Romantic Seaside Wedding in Chania, Crete Cecile & Mark

At the very end of May, Crete island is ready to welcome summer and the atmosphere softens into a golden feast. A Parisian couple chose a beautiful beach in western Chania for a celebration that felt intimate and artfully composed.  Cecile & Mark chose a family hotel for their reception on the same beach. With the groom being a photographer himself, every detail was curated with a discerning eye—each frame destined to hold not just beauty, but intention.

The ceremony unfolded directly on the sand, where low arrangements of carpets and scattered pillows replaced formality with romanticism. Guests gathered in a setting that felt like a fairytale, facing a colorful floral arch—an airy composition of blush garden roses and delicate sprays of astilbe, entwined with soft greenery that moved gently with the sea breeze. It was a scene suspended between refinement and reverie.

Their ceremony was profoundly personal: words spoken from the heart, poems carried by the wind, and even moments of song offered by the celebrant, creating an atmosphere that felt less like an event and more like a shared story unfolding.

A champagne tower shimmered against the horizon, catching the last light of day, before the celebration moved just above the beach, into the courtyard of their chosen family hotel. Music wove its way throughout the evening—at times spontaneous, as the couple and their guests gathered around a piano to play their favorite songs that have shaped their shared memories.

There, beneath strands of festoon lights, long tables were set with effortless elegance, inviting guests into a warm, unforgettable reception among loved ones. The reception night peaked with Greek dancers, a joyful cake cutting, and fireworks that lit up the sky, echoing the vibrancy of a day that felt both deeply personal and beautifully cinematic.
