Mediterranean style Catholic wedding in Chania, Crete Nicolas and Monika

Early July brought the fulfillment of a heartfelt dream for Nicolas and Monika. These young doctors, residing in Belgium, chose the Catholic Church of Chania to solemnize their union, surrounded by the warmth of the Greek island and the love of their closest family and friends. The allure of Western Crete’s balmy climate and its picturesque charm provided the perfect backdrop for their once-in-a-lifetime celebration.

Nicolas and Monika planned a wedding blending spirituality, relaxation, and elegance. Inspired by the Mediterranean, they chose white and blue for florals, table settings, and stationery, complementing the serene surroundings. Every detail of the reception combined sophistication with playful charm. The outdoor venue, bathed in the Cretan sun’s golden glow, created a festive and serene atmosphere, celebrating their love and shared journey with loved ones.

The couple decided to be driven in a red vintage convertible from the church to their venue, which is situated among olive groves with views of the Cretan White Mountains.

Adults enjoyed cocktails and left phone messages for the newlyweds, while kids played corn hole and garden Jenga.

The evening was filled with heartfelt speeches, laughter, and disco dancing, lasting late into the warm summer night in Crete.
